On December 10th 2008, Spike Television Network will be airing a special event for UFC fans. The upcoming Fight Night: "UFC Fight For The Troops," will raise funds to build a treatment center for our brave heroes that suffered brain traumas while serving America. Celebrities, as well as UFC Fighters will answer phones to accept donations while the event is taking place: 1-800-340 HERO. Specific participants names have not been mentioned as of yet. Regardless, it is a unique move for President Dana White, who is often accused of unfairly paying his fighters. This can very well assist at countering the negative money hoarding view of Mr. White.
The money that is raised will be donated to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which has been an independent non-profit organization since 2003. It has brought in a total of $60 million as of 2008, providing money for the wounded, as well as families of soldiers who died at war.
